Chuck Weger started Elara Systems in 1992 to focus on what is loosely termed “publishing systems,” which is the body of software and hardware necessary to conceptualize, create and produce printed and online publications. He specializes in workflow automation, architecting solutions using off-the-shelf or custom software to create and process pages quickly and efficiently. Chuck also designs and creates iOS apps, database and cloud-based solutions for client-specific needs.
More than 20 years ago, he came up with the concept of "preflight," which changed graphic arts workflows forever (although that and a dollar won't get him on the subway). He also does work for vendors such as Adobe, Apple, Xerox, etc. both at the strategic level (whitepapers or other analysis) and tactical (writing and/or presenting training materials). Chuck is a well-known speaker and has written for many publications. Chuck left the DC Beltway a few years ago, and is now sequestered (!!) in the bucolic country town of Underhill, Vermont.
