David Blatner

He is the editorial director of InDesign Magazine. Diane Burns

diane burns Diane Burns is an author, trainer, consultant, and founder of San Francisco-based TransPacificDigital, a leading print and digital localization company. She has been working with Adobe InDesign since before its initial release to the public, and she is an Adobe Certified Instructor and Expert in InDesign. She developed and teaches the InDesign curriculum at UC Berkeley Extension and provides custom training and consulting services to corporations and publishing companies throughout the United States. A regular contributor to InDesign Magazine, she is author of InDesign Tables InDepth on Lynda.com's Online Training Library.

Liz Castro

liz castro Elizabeth Castro has been helping people create and publish their own work in print, web, and ereaders since 1987. Anne-Marie Concepción

anne-marieAnne-Marie "HerGeekness" Concepcion owns a busy cross-media design studio in Chicago and is one of the industry's best-known Adobe trainers and consultants. She also presents many video tutorials at Lynda.com. In addition to her work here, Anne-Marie hosts InCopySecrets.com, for editors and designers working in an InDesign/InCopy worfklow, and writes the free monthly e-zine InCopyFlow. Matthew Diener

anne-marieMatthew Diener is the host of ePUBSecrets. He has twenty years experience in the book and publishing business, including bookstore retailing, library management, editorial acquisition and development in both trade and curriculum, online book reviews, and eBook conversion and digital strategy. He has spent the last three years focusing on eBook contracts, content conversion, metadata, and digital distribution. He is now a consultant helping publishing clients develop a digital strategy, implement XML workflows, convert content to XML and eBook formats, optimize metadata, and create their future.

Colin Fleming

anne-marie Colin Fleming is the Digital Publishing Evangelist for Adobe Systems. He speaks to and helps a variety of users ranging from cartographers, medical illustrators, and advertising/design agencies to publishing and print media outlets. Before joining Adobe, Colin was a freelance trainer specializing in workflow conversions to InDesign and the Creative Suite. He has taught intense, high-level classes in design and production techniques since 1999. He is an Adobe Certified Instructor in many Adobe Creative Suite applications, Adobe Acrobat, and Lightroom, as well as a Creative Suite Master Instructor. Colin has also published more than a dozen videos on AdobeTV.

Nigel French

nigel frenchNigel is a graphic designer, photographer, author, and teacher living in Brighton, UK. Between 1991 and 2001 Nigel operated Small World Productions, a graphic design firm in San Francisco. In 2001 he became the director of the Graphic and Interactive Design program at University of California Berkeley Extension. He is the author of InDesign Type and Photoshop Unmasked, both from Adobe Press. Nigel travels internationally teaching InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, and design classes.

James Fritz

james fritzJames graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. After beginning his career designing catalogs and collateral, he worked as a full time instructor for a training center and subsequently become an Adobe Certified Design Master. Today he is the Content Manager of Design at lynda.com. James has spoken at variety of conferences and groups including: the InDesign Secrets Print & Electronic Publishing Conference, Mogo-Media, AIGA, and multiple InDesign User Groups.

Erica Gamet

erica gametErica Gamet has been involved in graphics and pre-press for nearly 25 years. She is a speaker, writer, and trainer, focusing on Adobe InDesign, Apple Keynote and iBooks Author, and other print- and production-related topics. She regularly contributes to InDesign Magazine and Design Tools Monthly, tech edited How To Do Everything with Adobe InDesign CS4 from McGraw-Hill Osborne, and is the leader of the Denver InDesign User Group. When she's not keeping students from their Angry Birds games, Erica can be found propelling herself around beautiful Colorado on two wheels or watching campy British sci-fi. Keith Gilbert

keith gilbertKeith Gilbert has worked as an independent consultant and educator in the design industry for 25 years for clients such as Apple, Adobe, Best Buy, Cargill, General Mills, Lands' End, Medtronic, Target and the United Nations. His work has taken him throughout the US and Canada, as well as to Barbados, Kenya and Monaco. He is an Adobe Certified Instructor in InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat, and the Chapter Representative for the Minneapolis InDesign User Group. Mordy Golding

mordy goldingMordy Golding, currently Director of Content at Lynda.com, has played an active role in the design and publishing space since 1990. With a background in art production for both print and the web, Mordy regularly speaks at worldwide events including Adobe MAX and PePcon. Mordy has written books covering Adobe Illustrator and Creative Suite, and is the author of over 20 video training courses at Lynda.com including Illustrator Essential Training and the Illustrator Insider Training series. Mordy worked at Adobe as the product manager for Adobe Illustrator, and was named a Champion of Graphic Design by Graphics IQ.

Chris Kitchener

Today Chris spends his time focusing on the evolving world of publishing across all forms of media—from print to web, mobile, and beyond. Before moving to the US Chris worked at Adobe UK with influential design, advertising, print and publishing companies, helping them in their transition to InDesign. Chris speaks regularly at industry events on topics such as Adobe InDesign, InDesign Server, workflow productivity, and the future of print and digital publishing. In his spare time he cleans up after his two young children and a smelly dog.

Bob Levine

bob levineBob Levine is a graphic designer and consultant focused on InDesign based workflows. An Adobe Certified Expert in InDesign and InCopy, he had worked with clients ranging in size from small local business to large international firms offering a wide range of print and web related graphic design services. With the emergence of eReaders and tablets his focus has been on digital publishing working with publishers such as Scientific American and Reader's Digest. Bob is an Adobe Community Professional and a co-chapter representative of the New York City InDesign User Group. Claudia McCue

claudia mccueClaudia McCue spent more than 20 years in real-world print production -- from paste-up through early electronic prepress to current Mac and PC systems. She now specializes in teaching both creative and production professionals how to use Adobe products without hurting themselves or others. She is the author of "Real World Print Production with Adobe Creative Suite Applications" (Peachpit Press, 2009), and "Fearless Flash: Use Adobe InDesign CS5 and the Tools You Already Know to Create Engaging Web Documents" (Adobe Press, 2010). She is a Certified Technical Trainer, and an Adobe Certified Expert for Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, and InDesign.

John McWade

john mcwadeDesigner, teacher, and author John McWade has been at the forefront of the graphic design and desktop publishing worlds since 1985. The very first beta user of the desktop publishing program Aldus PageMaker, he went on to found the first desktop publishing company, PageLab, to take advantage of the new tools. With his wife Gaye McWade, he founded the acclaimed Before & After magazine, long a favorite resource for graphic designers.

Branislav Milic

branislav milicBrussels based Branislav Milic is an Adobe Certified Expert and Trainer. He travels all over Europe and the United States to host seminars, trainings, and to implement complex but efficient publishing workflows. His website branislavmilic.com has been covering all-things-InDesign in the French language since the release of InDesign 1.0 in September 1999. Branislav also runs the Paris and Brussels InDesign User Groups.

Michael Murphy

michael murphyMichael Murphy is a veteran designer and creator of the video podcast The InDesigner. Gabriel Powell

As a Senior Solutions Consultant for Typefi Systems and an Adobe Certified Instructor, Gabriel teaches InDesign, Typefi Publish, and other applications to creative professionals throughout Western Europe and the United States. He specializes in automated XML publishing, template building, and eBook publishing. He is also the founder of The Netherlands InDesign User Group in Amsterdam.

Mike Rankin

rankinMike has 15 years of publishing experience, including project management, layout, prepress, XML, support, and training. He is the author of "The InDesignSecrets Guide to the Adobe InDesign ACE Exam" and the "InDesignSecrets Guide to Graphic Effects." He is also the Manager of Workflow Automation at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Co., responsible for researching and developing tools and best practices to optimize a global product development workflow for K–12 educational publishing. Received Six Sigma Black Belt training methods to drive constant process improvement in an XML workflow to reduce the time and cost of re-using print content for the Web. He also writes for InDesign Magazine, InDesignSecrets.com, and his blog, Publicious.net.

David Rich

David Rich As Director of Worldwide Product Marketing at Adobe, David Rich is responsible for the Adobe Creative Suites products, services and mobile applications serving the design professional market. Before joining Adobe, Rich was senior vice president of Marketing at TurnHere, a global internet video production and advertising service. Earlier, he was chief marketing officer at Razz, Inc., where Rich led all marketing, PR, product marketing, content and creative functions for this provider of audio entertainment for mobile phone and internet users. Prior, Rich was VP, Marketing and Channel Sales at Eastman Kodak and its online photo service, Kodak Gallery/Ofoto. Rich has held senior marketing positions at Yahoo!, Inc., Jamba Juice, Walt Disney and PepsiCo. Rich has a Bachelor of Arts and an MBA from Duke University.

Russell Viers

russell viersRussell Viers started his career as a staff writer/photographer in 1981, at the age of 16 for his local daily newspaper. Since then, he has been involved in most facets of the newspaper business, as well as printing and publishing. For the past 11 years he has shared his vast knowledge of publishing production techniques as speaker, trainer and workflow consultant. As an Adobe Certified Instructor, his expertise is in teaching publishers how to use Adobe and Quark software to create better documents faster. His customer list is long and varied, but includes such names as Better Homes and Gardens, Ladies Home Journal, New York Times Regional Media Group, San Diego Union Tribune, Primedia Business and more. As a speaker, he is hired by printing and newspaper associations throughout the world to be a presenter at conferences and workshops, including the HOW Conference, IFRA, and NEXPO. Steve Werner

steve wernerSteve Werner has developed and taught classes in InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, and Photoshop since the early 90’s. He co-authored Moving to InDesign with David Blatner and Christopher Smith, and Real World Adobe Creative Suite 2 with Sandee Cohen. He has been an instructor at many industry conferences—including Seybold Conferences and The Creative Suite Conference. In the Bay Area, he teaches at AcademyX and the Printing Industry of Northern California classrooms. He is a regular contributor to InDesignSecrets.com and InDesign Magazine, and is an Adobe Certified Instructor and Adobe Certified Expert.
